I am a New York City-based artist, designer, and teacher living in Long Island City, Queens. I grew up in Libertyville, IL and came to New York in 2001 after completing my BFA at Indiana University. Once in New York I dove into the art scene here, showing in group shows in Manhattan and studying privately with Andy Reiss and at the Art Students League.
I had my first solo show A Brooklyn Year, at Park Slope Gallery in 2006. It was a show of paintings, drawings, and prints of Brooklyn cityscapes. The show was a success and a second show at Park Slope Gallery followed in October of 2009. This show, Moments in Time: Queens to Coney Island, featured cityscapes of the beach at Coney Island and industrial scenes in Long Island City along with other subjects.
New York has been a continual source of inspiration for my work. The magnetism of the city that first brought me here continues to enthrall me. The architecture, pace, opportunity, and exciting and confounding mix of peoples here continues to teach me new lessons about how to see our world and how society works.
